Opera Scenes director: Arezzo, Italy

As part of my assistantship with Oberlin's Arezzo Opera Festival (Oberlin in Italy), I stage directed 5 opera scenes for the emerging artists.

The scenes were from the following operas: Cosi fan tutte (Mozart), La bohème (Puccini), Nozze di Figaro (Mozart), Lucia di Lammermoor (Donizetti), e La Cenerentola (Rossini).

It was so much fun to direct students, from duets to sextets, in Italian opera - in addition, the students spanned a wide variety of ages, from 17 to 35!

The scenes were performed on August 2nd, 2017 at 9pm in the beautiful and historic Teatro Petrarca in Arezzo. Alongside the scenes I directed, my colleague Hallie Stebbins stage directed four additional scenes and director Scott Skiba also stage directed a scene for the occasion.
